So after doing all this he Googled about this issue and reached a support forum for Real Player here is the link of that support forum he read it and tried all the steps to get Rid of that.So he re-installed and uninstalled it but the same issue persists. Checked the start up items by going to Run-> typing “ Msconfig” and in the system configuration utility clicked on start up and unchecked everything he could find related to the Real Player Cloud. He then checked the control panel if he could find the real player cloud icon so that he could uninstall it from there but did not find any icons for Real player. He tried to remove it, he checked the add remove program ( Program and features ) and scrolled through the list but did not find Real Player there. So after it was uninstalled he went to Computer and found the Real Player Cloud system folder there. He did not know that he would not completely get rid of the real player. You should be very close to stall speed when you touch down and the stick/yoke should be fairly far back.Īs someguy wrote this is something that takes practice so a video of someone doing it will not be very useful. When just off the runway close the throttle if you have not already done this and let it settle on the runway. Maintain your approach speed until you are about 1 wing span above the runway (something that will take practice to be able to judge) and then start pulling back on the stick/yoke to slow your decent. Been a long time since I have flown a trainer/basic GA type aircraft but 65 knots sounds like a good approach speed for the 172 and is at least close to being in the right ball park but you should look it up and use whatever the manual says is the correct approach speed for the C172. You will need to make trim adjustments as you add flaps and make adjustments to the throttle setting. Normally this would be done on the down wind leg and it is normal on down wind to add some power to maintain altitude until you turn cross wind. So pitch up (pull back on the stick or yoke) to slow down to approach speed and then adjust the trim until there are no longer any force on the stick/yoke and you are maintaining your approach speed. One of the easiest ways to upgrade your flight simulator experience is to purchase a joystick.Someguy wrote in Tue 5:11 pm.Pitch the nose up to achieve the desired approach speed (something around 65 knots?), then vary the throttle to see how it determines where you will touch down.įor approach set the pitch by trimming until there are no control forces at the correct approach speed (aircraft dependent). They give you immediate three-axis control with a single hand, where before keyboard and mouse were required in tandem. This frees up your other hand for the throttle or other controls. Joysticks also offer analogue control, allowing for nuanced inputs for yaw, pitch, and roll, which gives you much more subtle control of your plane. While they aren’t what most actual plane pilots use (see below for more real-world flight controls) they are much closer than either a mouse and keyboard combination or a console gamepad.įor a great entry-level joystick, the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is a classic for around £45. It gives you 12 programmable buttons that put all of your plane’s toggleable actions within easy reach, as well as a built-in throttle. If you have a bigger budget or want something higher quality, you could opt for a more capable joystick. But, for big money Flight Simulator controllers, you might want to consider some of the more advanced options below instead. While real-life pilots need a great headset for crystal clear communication with ground control stations and their co-workers in the plane itself, Flight Simulator pilots need a great headset to appreciate all the gorgeous work that has gone into the game’s sound design.įrom accurate renditions of the planes’ engines to the bump and rattle of takeoffs and landings, to the patter of rain on the windscreen and chassis it can all make a big difference to the game’s overall immersion. Great headsets offer virtual surround sound, a comfortable headband and earcups, and audio customization that lets you tweak the sound to just how you like it.īut really, the best headset to augment your Flight Simulator experience depends on your personal preferences for headset style, whether you want a wired or wireless headset, and your budget. With this in mind, the Steelseries Arctis 5 is a beloved gaming headset with excellent virtual surround sound and a comfortable ski-google-like headband for extra comfort. If you have a greater budget or prefer a wireless design for more freedom of movement while flying, the Logitech G Pro X wireless Lightspeed headset offers great range, battery life, and excellent audio. #FLIGHTGEAR CESSNA 172 TUTORIAL UPGRADE#. Graphics that make a Disney blockbuster look fairly passé, and a soundtrack which would not look out of place on CD and cassette. Makers of Dragon's Lair III - ReadySoft - have the knack of creating games which stretch the average Amiga's graphics and sound to its limits. Back in the real world, games can cost upwards £20, and good gameplay is an exception, rather than the rule. Was that good for you as it was for me? Well, I am sorry, but we were both dreaming. Moreover, the ultimate game is also available for the same price as a compact disc. One where graphics, sound and gameplay all come together seamlessly to form the ultimate game. Sit back, relax, and imagine a perfect gaming world. If the playability came even remotely close to the presentation then Dragon's Lair 3 would be a worthy winner of a Gamer Gold - as it is, unless you desperately need to see some beautiful animation and have plenty of cash to spare, I just can't see any reason to buy it, which is sad. If this sounds laboured I apologise, but unless you have actually experienced the frustration of this as I have then it's difficult to understand just what how ridiculously unplayable the whole thing is, which is a real shame as the presentation is absolutely superb.ĭragon's Lair 3 resembles a high class running animation demo more than a game, but even as such is rendered close to useless because of the difficulty in accessing the later levels.Īfter being treated to the stunning level of detail, I am genuinely disappointed by this game as it offers nothing in the way of gameplay and is far too expensive to purchase just as an animation package. The obvious moves are not always the correct ones to make, and even if you do choose correctly, then unless it's timed just right you'll lose a life, and may quite reasonably think that you made an incorrect choice. Whereas pushing back on the joystick or keys would normally - obviously - move your character backwards, Dragon's Lair for some reason insists that your move is carried out at the exact time the programmers intended it, otherwise Dirk will simply not respond. Unfortunately, and quite unbelievably, your responses are limited not only in terms of movement but also in terms of the time at which they must be carried out. As it transpires, the gamer is not in total control of Dirk in true arcade style - there are a limited number of moves he can make, and instead of initiating the action you must take note of what happens around you and respond to it. Having booted up the machine and loaded the game, I was absolutely gobsmacked by the brilliant animation of Don Bluth (last seen in Guy Spy, for the curious among you) that virtually leapt out of the screen at me. The game is split into 20-odd levels, which are actually only single animated sequences, so packed with colour, detail and effects that it takes about half a dozen to fit them all in.ĭirk is faced with a problem in each sequence, related to the trouble conjured up by Mordread, which he must obviously solve in order to progress. So the Vortex of Eternity it is then, and again it's up to Dirk to perform the suitably heroic deeds that will free him and the missus from his terrible fate. Hey, real punishment - we should introduce her to Walt Disney. Black magic runs in the Mor family it seems, and Mordread swears to avenge the death of her brother by condemning Dirk and Princess Mrs Dirk to the Vortex of Eternity, where they will never grow old and never die. Mordroc had a sister, Mordread, and she's none too chuffed that her sibling has been killed. No-one seems to live in towns in these games, do they? But it isn't that easy. Which of course he doesn't - in fact it is only Dirk's quick- witted cunning that enables him to divert the warlock's magic onto the man himself, allowing him to rescue his betrothed and sweep her back to the enchanted (surprise, surprise) forest where they resume a life of happiness together. Well, Mordroc must have some reason for his purloinment of the princess, and it's unreasonable and rather native to believe that he would simply hand her back to Dirk without a peep. The reason? Daphne is your sweetheart and you're going to get married. Anyway, Dirk the Daring (that's you) sets off on a dangerous rescue mission. Anyone who has experienced the previous Dragon's Lair games will no doubt be familiar with the story, which consists of the fairly standard nasty witch/ wizard kidnaps beautiful princess/ maiden, holds her random for no apparent reason and cackles evilly as the kingdom rallies round in panic-type tale.īut for those who aren't clued up, I'll tell you more - because, unusually, the story is a major part of the game in this particular instance.ĭaphne (the princess type) found herself kidnapped by some warlock geezer named Mordroc - Lord only knows why, but there you go. The Model H is the precursor of the Model K that was introduced to the armed forces in 1952. It was never provided to the troops as they were still using Model F and G masks. The Model H was completed shortly before the start of the Second World War. Model H- used in the mobilisation before the Second World War. The hose consisted of onepiece and the outlet valve was mounted in the nozzle Among the eyeglasses it had a rubber partition to prevent mirroring. It was an improved version of the Model F. The Model G was introduced in 1937 to the Dutch Armed Forces and remained in use until the Second World War. An exhaust valve was mounted between the lower and the upper hose. The gas mask hose consisted of two parts. Fogging the eyeglasses was prevented by rubbing it with spectacle ointment. The bulbous inner wall ensured a good gas-tight seal on the face. The mask was made of rubber with embedded fabric. The gas mask for riders had a different model carrier and a longer hose. The difference between the gas mask for non-riders and that for cyclists consisted only of the length for the carrier strap. There were three versions of the gas mask F, namely for non-riders, cyclists and riders. The Model F was introduced in 1926 to replace the Model E E, which was stored in mobilization warehouses until 1938. The gas mask cloth was pleated on either side of the eyeglasses. The face piece was made of brown linen and on the inside it had a layer of rubber. It was the first mask to consist of a face piece, a gas mask hose and a filter. The Model E is a gas mask the English invented at the end of WW1, it is called the Small Box Respirator. Model E- used from 1918-1926, then stored till 1938. Model D- never used, idea scrapped before it was done. The Model C was the first Dutch gas mask to have changeable filters. The mouthpiece was made of metal and and had a rubber edge so you it was more tight. The Model C was a muzzle gas mask too, it was very similar to the Model B. It was supplied with glasses to protect the eyes. It didn't have an exhaust valve yet so you could exhale through the filling. It was made of hospital linen, stretched over a frame of wire mesh and equipped with a filling canister filled with soda lime. This gas mask belonged to the type of muzzle gas masks. The mask had added glasses to protect the eyes. The Model A was a primitive gas mask made of a linnen bag filled with soaked compresses covering the mouth and the nose area. Sources: The gas mask and respirator wiki, and this PDF In this post I will be making a full timeline masks the Dutch army has been using since 1917. The Dutch army has used a whole variety of gas mask throughout the 20th century, most gas masks were marked with a letter ranging from A to K. |
